Questions
Is it accurate enough for a court or an embassy?
The translation is careful: it is reviewed, proofread, and checked against the original for numbers, dates and names. Choose Thorough for documents you will file. Courts, embassies and registries usually ask for a certified translation, though, which means a sworn translator’s stamp and signature. Glotbee Personal does not certify. Sworn translators use Glotbee Professional to certify their work.
Can a sworn translator certify my Glotbee translation?
That is the translator’s decision: they must check it and take responsibility for it. You can download the translation as Word, so a sworn translator can review it.
Can it read scanned PDFs?
Yes. A scanned page is straightened and its light evened out, every line is read twice, and the translation is set where each line was, so the result keeps the original’s page layout. Text in pictures is read and translated too. You can upload PDF, Word (DOCX), Markdown and HTML files up to 50 MB. If you have a photo of a document, save it as a PDF first.
What is the translation audit?
A separate PDF that comes with a contract, a certificate, a medical report, a technical document or a letter: every number, date, code and name of the original, beside where the translation has it, with anything to look at listed first. It is made by fixed rules, not by AI, and made again when you correct the translation. Download it from the finished order. A novel or an advertisement does not get one. See a sample (PDF).
Which languages?
Over 50: the languages of Europe, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and the other main languages of India, Turkish, Persian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Swahili and more. The language of your document is detected when you upload it, and you choose the one to translate into. A PDF or a scan is translated into languages written in Latin, Cyrillic or Greek letters for now; for the others, upload it as a Word file. The site itself is in English, Macedonian and Serbian.
What if I find a mistake?
Open the original and the translation side by side, click any paragraph, and correct it. Your corrections are written back into the document with its layout, and you download it again. Every order includes one correction round.
Who sees my documents?
You, and anyone you invite. Files are stored encrypted with your own key. To translate them, the text goes to AI providers that work under data processing agreements and do not train on it. You can mask ID numbers, account numbers and contact details before anything is sent.
How long does it take?
You see an estimate along with the price. You can watch the work on screen, or close the page: an email arrives when the translation is ready.
Why is there no free sample?
Before you pay, you see the exact price and the first page of your original, so you know what you are paying for. The full process runs on the whole document, from the first read to the final checks, so there is no single-page version of it to give away.
