Who is responsible
Glotbee ("we", "us") is responsible for your personal data. Write to contact@glotbee.com about anything in this notice.
What we collect, and why
- Your e-mail address: to send you sign-in links and tell you when a translation is ready. Needed to provide the service you ordered.
- The documents you upload, their translations and your corrections: to translate them, lay them out, and let you review and download them. Needed to provide the service you ordered.
- Your orders: what was ordered, the price, and the payment's reference. We never see your card details. Needed to provide the service, and kept because accounting law requires it.
- Technical logs: IP address, browser, times and errors, to keep the service secure and working. Our legitimate interest in a secure service.
- Usage statistics: which pages are visited and which steps of an order are reached, without the name or content of any document, to improve the service. Our legitimate interest in improving it. They are collected without cookies.
Who else handles your data
- The AI providers that translate the text: Anthropic PBC and OpenAI, L.L.C., in the United States. They work under data processing agreements and do not use your documents to train their models. Before anything is sent, you can have ID numbers, account numbers, contact details and names of your choice masked.
- Cloudflare, Inc., in the United States, which serves this website (and so sees visitors' IP addresses) and forwards the e-mails sent to contact@glotbee.com.
- [OWNER: hosting provider, country], which runs the service and stores your files, encrypted.
- [OWNER: e-mail provider], which delivers our e-mails.
- Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC), which takes payments as the Merchant of Record, under its own privacy notice.
- PostHog, which keeps the usage statistics, in the European Union.
Data sent to the United States is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, and otherwise by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Documents, translations and corrections of an order: 30 days after the translation is delivered, then deleted automatically. You can delete them sooner. In a Professional or Agency workspace, they stay until the organization deletes them.
- Orders and payment records: as long as accounting law requires, [OWNER: number of years] years.
- Technical logs: 30 days.
How it is protected
Your files are stored encrypted, with a key for your account. Only you, and people you invite, can open them. Signing in uses e-mail links or passkeys, and a second factor where you turn it on.
Cookies
Glotbee sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in, and remembers your choice of language in your browser. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to have its use restricted, to receive it in a common format, and you can object to its use for our legitimate interests. Write to contact@glotbee.com. You can also complain to the data protection authority of the country where you live.
